I'm sorry, I'm sorry...

[That's all that's coming from the blanket pile. He doesn't feel anything but panic.]

[ When he's finished fixing her wrist, the sensation returns...mostly to normal. There's a little bit of a dull ache, but it's not terribly painful. ]

Well, this shouldn't stop you from doing most things. Just try to be gentle with it. [ Which might be a tall order...he worries, Jolyne.

He goes and crouches down by the blanket pile. ]

Are you going to let me check you over? You can go back to hiding afterwards, if you like. But I need to make sure you're in good health before I leave.

[She's getting better at being gentle on herself, this was just an actual legitimate accident. For once.

Of course Toki's still kind of panicking over there and she's rubbing at her face with her dominant hand.]

He's... kind of blaming himself for the whole wrist thing. And in a panic loop, tried to get him to calm down, didn't really work.

[yokeye]

[When he hears Ekkehardt's voice, he pulls the blankets tighter around himself. He won't look out.]

I didn't... I didn't mean to hurt her!

[He's been repeating the same things over and over in between shallow breaths.]

I know you didn't. It's fine. Nobody is judging you.

Just breathe. In and out, slowly. [ Getting him to calm down enough so he'll actually let him check him over is probably the key here. ]

[yokeye]

[It's a couple minutes of attempting to breathe correctly. The blankets shift a little, but he's still not coming out.]

It's only been three days!

[His voice is a whisper, quickly escalating to a louder panicked cracking at the end.]

[ He's really not going to ask. ]

Just breathe. Tell me when you feel better, and then I'll check you for injuries, and you can go back to hiding.

[strings_theory]

[Goddammit, she's sighing again.]

Toki, come on, this seriously isn't a big deal, I promise you. Already told you I'm not mad, just gotta figure some shit out so this doesn't happen again in the future.

[She's trying, okay.]

[yokeye]

[It's not a big deal to Jolyne, but it is to him. It's not because he think she's angry. It's because he continues to hurt people, whether by accident or emotionally, or on purpose in moments of impulsive and very bad decisions. It just keeps happening. But he's calmed down enough to block that out for now.

Panic has now given way to embarrassment, and he slowly emerges half-way from the blankets. He's not dressed and there's bite marks on his neck, and scratches and bruises in various places.]

I'm okay. I just... I panicked. [Obviously.] It's fine, Ekkehardt! And I'm fine and you can go back to your office now!

[spelleton]

[ He'd raise an eyebrow if that was a thing possible to do. As it is, he keeps any comments to himself; it's the work of a moment to fix those small bruises and scrapes without a single change of expression or any indication that this might be embarrassing for anyone in the room. ]

If there's anything else you require, feel free to drop by the infirmary later.

[ If nobody has any objections, he'll just politely take his leave. ]
